David Wilkes
Board Member
David is an attorney with over two decades of experience concentrated in real estate asset valuation disputes, commercial property taxation, and managing property taxes for national and global portfolios, as well as advising foreign economically developing nations on the design of property rights legislation and infrastructure to attract foreign mortgage finance investment. He is a former Chairman of The Appraisal Foundation which is appointed by Congress to set national valuation standards. He is a Partner in the Corporate Department at Cullen and Dykman, LLP, a distinguished full-service law firm founded in 1850, where he leads the firm’s Appraisal Regulatory Practice, and co-leads the firm’s Property Tax practice.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from City University of New York, a Master’s degree in Real Estate Finance and Valuation from New York University’s Real Estate Institute and a law degree from the Boston University School of Law. He is an avid rock climber and mountaineer, a licensed rock and ice climbing guide, and a trail runner.
David joined the Preserve Board in 2022. He chairs the Land Protection Committee.
