Arthur O. Sulzberger Jr.

Board Member 

Arthur is Chairman Emeritus of The New York Times, having retired as Chairman at the end of 2020. He served as publisher of The New York Times from 1992 to 2017. In his quarter-century as publisher, he transformed The Times into an international, digital-first news organization with 7.5 million paid subscriptions. Before coming to The Times Arthur was a reporter with The Raleigh (N.C.) Times and a London correspondent for the Associated Press.

He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Tufts University and is also a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Program for Management Development.

Arthur joined the Preserve’s Board of Directors in 2015.
