Thursday, May 4th, 6pm. Join Mohonk Preserve and the SUNY New Paltz Biology Department for a screening of THE MESSENGER, a full-length documentary film about the myriad conservation threats to migratory songbirds. The Messenger is an ode to the beauty and importance of these birds, and what it means on both a global and human level if we lose them. Birds have helped predict the change of seasons and the rise of toxins in the food chain. Once again they have something to tell us. Directly after the film, students from the Ornithology course at SUNY New Paltz will present posters about solutions to the conservation threats described in the film. The screening will take place in the Coykendall Science Building Auditorium at SUNY New Paltz.
